our commitment.

Why Your Home Might Be Colder Than It Should Be

Even if your home has existing insulation, it could be silently underperforming due to age, material degradation, poor installation, or external factors. This leads to common issues like persistent cold spots, dampness, mould, and frustratingly high energy bills.

Testimonials

“Thermalfill Insulation made such a difference to our 1960s home! They quickly spotted the lack of insulation and gave us clear advice on what could be done. The team was friendly and professional—our house is noticeably warmer now. Highly recommend!”
Mary Doherty Belfast
“We had old insulation that wasn’t doing much, but Thermalfill Insulation removed it and installed new bonded bead insulation. The difference is amazing—our energy bills have dropped and the house feels cosy all year round. Great service!”
Brian McCabe Lisburn
“Even with some existing boards in the cavity, Thermalfill Insulation managed to add more insulation and explained everything clearly. The house is so much more comfortable, and the team was a pleasure to work with. Would definitely use them again!”

The most common questions

What is thermal bead (bonded bead) insulation?

Thermal bead insulation, often called bonded bead cavity wall insulation, involves injecting specially formulated polystyrene beads into the cavity between your home’s outer and inner walls. A bonding agent holds the beads together, creating a highly effective thermal barrier that reduces heat loss and improves energy efficiency.

The beads are injected through small holes drilled in the external walls. Once inside, they fill the cavity completely, forming a lightweight, moisture-resistant layer that helps keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer

Improved thermal efficiency: Reduces heat loss by up to 30%, making your home warmer and more comfortable.
•Lower energy bills: Improved insulation means less energy is needed for heating and cooling, which can save hundreds of pounds per year.
•Moisture resistance: The impermeable bead barrier forces any water ingress to the damp proof course at the bottom of the cavity, reducing the risk of damp and mould..
•Long lifespan: The insulation is durable and does not degrade over time.
•Environmentally friendly: Reduces your ongoing carbon footprint because of decreased energy required to heat you home.

Yes, thermal bead insulation is non-toxic, non-irritant, and fully fire-resistant. It is approved by leading industry bodies and meets or exceeds current building regulations

Properly installed thermal bead insulation does not cause damp. The beads allow water to drain downward, and the material itself does not absorb moisture. Issues with damp usually arise from poor installation or pre-existing wall damage, not the insulation itself

For a typical semi-detached house, installation usually takes just a few hours. The process is quick and minimally invasive, with only small holes required in the external walls

Most homes with cavity walls are suitable. A professional survey is recommended to check for any pre-existing issues or incompatibilities before installation
